material1

Rigid Polyvinyl Chloride (RPVC)

Best value for performance. Excellent chemical resistance, self-extinguishing. Available in clear or natural form, glossy or dull finish. Barbour Plastics typical notched izod for rigid PVC: 13-20. Barbour Plastics marine-grade PVC has excellent UV stability.

Filled UV Marine Grade- Specific Gravity 1.4 (COMPBZ)
Unfilled Interior Glossy- Specific Gravity 1.34 (COMPBM)
Higher Density UV with UL and NSF listings- Specific Gravity 1.47 (COMPBL)

material2

Flexible Polyvinyl Chloride (FPVC)

Best value for performance. Excellent chemical resistance, self-extinguishing. Available in clear or natural form, glossy or dull finish. Barbour Plastics typical durometer: 77A to 95A. Barbour Plastics marine-grade PVC has excellent UV stability.

Flexible Vinyl Compound – Specific Gravity 1.34 (COMPNM)
Filled UV Marine Grade- Specific Gravity 1.35 (COMPFB)
Unfilled Interior Glossy- Specific Gravity 1.25 (COMPCH)

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) – Specific Gravity 1.19 (COMPXA)

Medium-priced, lightweight alternative to Rigid PVC. Tough, even at low temperatures

material3

Polycarbonate (PC) – Specific Gravity 1.20 (COMPPC)

Excellent toughness, transparency, and UV. High gloss, water clear in appearance

img09

Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) – Specific Gravity 0.924 (COMPMA)

Good toughness and flexibility. Low heat and temperature resistance.

material4

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) – Specific Gravity 0.955 (COMPMB)

Higher in rigidity and strength than LDPE. Better low temperature characteristics than LDPE, but less flexible.

material6

Polypropylene (PP) – Specific Gravity 0.90 (COMPMJ)

Limited heat resistance, moderate strength. PP has a good balance of thermal and chemical properties.

material7

Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) – Specific Gravity 1.22 (COMPTU)

Excellent resistance to fluctuations in temperature, fungus, moisture, and gas. Superior tensile strength and abrasion resistance.

img11

Thermoplastic Vulcanizate (TPV) – Specific Gravity 0.96 (COMPSN)

Good adhesion and bonding characteristics. Fairly good temperature resistance.

img12

Polystyrene (PS) – Specific Gravity 1.04 (COMPRZ)

Easy processing, great clarity. High- Impact polystyrene has good impact resistance, and is light-weight.

Speciality Materials

We can run a wide range of thermoplastic compounds such as: Biodegradables, Glow in the Dark, Green Alternatives, NSF, UL, Flame Retardant, and more!
